City of East Chicago Planning Commission approves construction of the Cline Avenue Bridge Operations Office and Maintenance Facility.December 2015
Ceremonial project groundbreaking is held onsite with City of East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland. May 2016
Geotechnical boring exploration work begins. Two full-scale load tests of the existing piles were performed to verify pile capacity for re-use in the new bridge. October 2016
With the building design and permits issued, construction of the operations office begins.January 2017
Geotechnical field work, including the full-scale pile load tests, is completed for the new bridge. February 2017
The first concrete bridge segment is erected and set in place.March 2019
Segment erection in halfway complete.February 2020
The new Cline Avenue Bridge opens to traffic.December 2020
